The ride home was a little dicier because of the slick hardpack on the side roads, but I still got the trip down to 45 minutes.

Put studded tires on my mountain bike last night, and then woke up to minus-5 degrees. Ouch. My wife and I have an agreement where I don't ride if it's below zero (I just don't have that kind of cold-weather gear). So the studded tires are still waiting for the "season opener". Hopefully tomorrow.dbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09527673886975332497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-198843833237575122.post-84798382644973828222009-12-07T21:54:49.782-07:002009-12-07T21:54:49.782-07:00I skipped Monday as I had to take the kids(2) to s...I skipped Monday as I had to take the kids(2) to school. I usually take them on the Xtracycle if it is above 15. But I was unprepared for the snow and didn't want to take a spill with them on the back. The powder is fine on the secondary roads but there was also some slick stuff.

I got some studs at the end of last year and didn't get a chance to use them. I mounted the front up tonight and need to get a tube for the rear.Clancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09198204833535175807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-198843833237575122.post-5713131407464379692009-12-07T17:57:02.085-07:002009-12-07T17:57:02.085-07:00We skipped powder and went from wet slop, to slush...We skipped powder and went from wet slop, to slush, to a streetcicle. I took the train today. The roads are mostly clear now, so back in the saddle.Scottnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-198843833237575122.post-59053616177931190722009-12-07T16:26:09.310-07:002009-12-07T16:26:09.310-07:00Good point, Reuben, about the depth of the snow.

Like you, I also seem to find myself riding on the sidewalks a little more when there's snow on the ground. It's as close to mountain biking as I ever get here in MPLS.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12610344574135095983noreply@blogger.com
