I am told the lower portion gets pretty bad late in the season.Clancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09198204833535175807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-198843833237575122.post-39901929235274849972009-06-02T16:59:14.234-06:002009-06-02T16:59:14.234-06:00Oh, I've GOTTA go ride that Weiser River trail! At Cambridge we ran into the wagon train so a little rougher till Midvale. Midvale to Galloway Dam pretty much was like riding on marbles. Combination of the 2 goat herds and the wagon train. They do occasionally roll the trail so I think we just hit a bad weekend. The wagons are only on it once a year. I had Schwalbe Big Apple 26x 2.35 tires on my Xtracycle and they were perfect for the good parts.

Here is pics that my brother and friend took. http://picasaweb.google.com/jtucker.anderson/Mundo12002#

http://picasaweb.google.com/tadajones/Mundo1202009Clancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09198204833535175807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-198843833237575122.post-47607465421548517432009-06-02T14:56:52.856-06:002009-06-02T14:56:52.856-06:00(I was referring to the Weiser River trail in the ...(I was referring to the Weiser River trail in the previous comment. You might consider riding UP in the morning, and back DOWN in the afternoon. (When we did it, I dropped the group off at the top, then drove the vehicle to the bottom, then furiously rode back up - on the road - to meet them, and we all rode down the path together.)

Make sure everybody has decent lighting! (Even without the Taft, some of those tunnels are long enough that you can't see light from either end... it is DARK!)Bikeboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17379272663647894409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-198843833237575122.post-47813002862014188432009-06-02T11:24:57.309-06:002009-06-02T11:24:57.309-06:00I am riding Trail of the Hiawatha this Friday with...I am riding Trail of the Hiawatha this Friday with the kids and family. (Hopefully in August with a Scout group I'm associated with... if I can convince them that they can't "train" for an 80-mile, 2-day ride by playing video games all summer.)Bikeboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17379272663647894409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-198843833237575122.post-16336080869989067952009-06-02T08:09:28.525-06:002009-06-02T08:09:28.525-06:00I ride lots but probably never that much, Congrats...I ride lots but probably never that much, Congrats. My notable accomplishment for may is biking the Weiser River Trail. The trail is 85 miles end to end but we did 72 miles of it and camped halfway. I saw parts of Idaho not seen by road.Clancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09198204833535175807noreply@blogger.com
